Butch Haugland grew up on the family farm near Crosby, North Dakota. He attended NDSU and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Agricultural Education. Butch taught Agricultural Education and served as an FFA instructor for 32 years. Butch has always had a passion for agriculture and has operated a family-farm and ranch since the early 1970’s. He started Haugland’s Action Auction in 1984, enjoying auctioning and working with customers to create their vision in creating a successful sale. Butch has been involved in many organizations and served on various boards at the local and state level, including the North Dakota State Fair Board. He and his wife Diane have four children – Drew, Grant, Amber and Paige, and two grandchildren. Butch’s friendly nature and great sense of humor are always enjoyed by auction attendees.
